Transport Management, Inc. Seattle, WA (HQ)
2007 to Present
Director of Network & Field Operations
Manage daily activities of national fiber optic
and RF network consisting of four markets, 1,100 cell sites, and 5,000 route
miles of fiber. Handle all network and customer issues, network outages, hardware
failures, and circuit outages. Lead disaster recovery initiatives, such as
weeklong efforts impacting 250 cell sites during Hurricane Sandy. Oversee
service design, provisioning, and testing for 1,500 cell sites with multiples
DS1 and/or Ethernet circuits.
Key Achievements:
· Transitioned company into fiber optic network environment. Developed
guidelines, engineered plan, and defined equipment requirements.
· Pivotal in defining new corporate culture and developing employee
mindset around Fiber Optic Systems, as the path for future company growth
evolved. Involved in acquiring venture capital for continued business growth.
· Defined scope, engineered systems, and implemented first Ethernet
deployment for the company.
PPL
Telecom, LLC Allentown, PA
2002 to 2007
Manager of Engineering – ISP & OSP
Directed engineering responsibilities for network
growth, capacity management, and hardware implementation of inside plant
systems. Managed fiber optic network growth (3,200 route miles across seven
states) encompassing customer laterals, fiber cable design, construction,
splicing, and troubleshooting of outside plant systems. Managed and
engineered first application of Fiber to the Cell Tower. Involved in team
efforts for defining network and hardware requirements to deploy fiber to
more than 500 cell towers delivering TDM and Ethernet.
Key Achievements:
· Instrumental player in tripling network footprint for more than 3,200
fiber miles over a three-year period.
· Involved in team efforts for deploying largest Resilient Packet Ring
Ethernet over SONET network in U.S.
· Engineered, implemented, and tested first commercial Broadband over
power line network.
· Spearheaded development of Fiber to the Cell tower product through
engineering, implementing, and provisioning service to more than 500 cell
towers, becoming the top revenue generator in the company.
Nextel
Communications Philadelphia, PA
1997 to 2001
Regional Director – Network Engineering &
Operations
Led daily network mobile switching office (MSO)
activities for four multi-site locations including transport, digital
switching, base station controller/transcoder, digital cross connect (DCS),
data fill operations, and more. Handled capacity management, transport and
backhaul, network performance, hardware upgrades, adds/moves/changes, and
system growth. Oversaw network trouble management for more than 1,200 cell
sites with four mobile switching offices. Additionally handled network
configuration, provisioning, data fill, and capital/operational budgeting.
Key Achievements:
· Migrated greater Philadelphia market into first localized
MSO. Fully implemented first Mid-Atlantic MSO from ground up through to
implementation. Integrated and fully migrated Philadelphia market onto new
systems.
· Executed second MSO into Mid-Atlantic and
Baltimore-Washington markets. Oversaw full implementation efforts from
initial concept through to completion. Led market split and integration into
new systems.
· Assumed market responsibilities for Baltimore-Washington
Metropolitan area to restore customer SLA to the market and successfully
returned market availability to SLA metrics within first six
months.
· Initiated and executed (FOA) projects for Motorola iDEN
software and Nortel Software/Hardware.
Eastern
Telelogic King of Prussia,
PA
1989 to 1997
Network Engineer
Launched start-up operations for central office
design and construction. Directed SONET network fiber design, hardware
design, and implementation. Handled circuit level design and Tier III
Support.
Key Achievements:
· Launched start-up operations for two new central offices and provided
service to new and existing customers due to customer footprint growing
outside original network. Both were completed on time and within budget.
· Designed and implemented two new data collation facilities to overcome
increasing demand on internal network (due to different types of service
usage on existing network) requiring a new approach to managing internet
customers. Designed and implemented new Data/Colo facilities within one year
which were filled to capacity in first six months and allowed voice network
to growth while generating new data revenue.
· Designed and implemented AT&T dedicated ring projects. Entered
into ACCU-Ring Network Access Service market. Assigned project to certify
company and engineer first implementation. Passed certification test and
documentation requirements. Conformed to ETC eligible in order bid on ATT
ACCU-Ring projects.
